I'm not sure how to describe this. Last night my computer contracted "Antispyware Soft", a virus posing as an antispyware program. I got rid of the program using malwarebyte. My computer was working fine last night afterwards. When I turned it on today, it took forever to boot up. When I clicked on my account, it was "loading my settings" for the longest time, then it brought me to my desktop, but there were no icons or start menu for a good ten minutes. When it finally did load, it looked as if the computer was in safe mode (which it was not). I am not able to connect to the internet. My IP address is 0.0.0.0. I don't know what to do and I am going insane! Please help!

Have a look at this.
Most likely the virus changed your IE settings to proxy server.
If no luck please post in Malware Forum, to ensure you are now virus fre.

My wife just caught that today and with the help of one of the GeekU Mods she was able to clean her system completely.
I suggest you go to the Malware Removal and Spyware Removal Forum and run all the steps located in the
START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own.
If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the reguested logs in THAT forum.
If you are unable to run any of the tools then start a new topic in the malware forum and put this in the subject line...I am unable to run any malware tools

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
