[Grazen]

I ran through the list of things on the Malware thread. The Ewido security suite did find the virus and I followed the instructions to delete it. However I am still totally bugged.

Once you have the results from the Kaspersky site>Run MSCONFIG and enable everything in the startup area. To get to MSCONFIG, click on Start -> Run -> type in MSCONFIG -> click OK!

Under the "General" Tab
Make Sure Normal Startup is Checked!!


Click Apply>>OK>>Follow the Prompts to Restart!!

Restart Normal and have the PC Scanned here:
Panda Active Scan

You will need to be using Internet Explorer for the Scan to work!

Save the Report it generates and post it along with a Fresh HiijackThis log!!

Well here's the deal. I ran the scans on the file in SVChost and three of the files wouldn't scan.

Cygwin1.dll was too big.

Svchost.ignl and Svchost.ignl.bkup wouldn't even start scanning


And I can't get the scan at Panda Active Scan to start. I have to type in the address as I also can't use links to go anywhere in IE.

I also noticed that the CPU is running at 100% all the time. Backupnotify.exe is at 97-99.

But here is the Hijack file... I doubt it will help much..

Hello.

This is the person who actually infected this computer with this thing. And I just wanted you to know that "c:\windows\system32\svchost" is where the SRVANY trojan sits. Those files that are stated above to be too large are peices of this trojan. The run.bat, as well as the rest of the crap that came with this are still sitting in that directory. As an example:

OK,if you intend to reformat then that is definatly your option!

I suggest removing that entire folder as reaks of Infection!

Remove the O4 Registry entry with HijackThis and Empty the Recycle bin!

You will find then that PC responds a bit better and can simply reduce all the HP programs that load at startup along with someof the others that arent required and will see a huge improvement in performance!

Once you get that done a simple scan at the Panda site will indicate whats leftover and you can remove those as well!

Either way requires the same amount of work!

The option is yours!

Editing to say!

You will want to end process on Explorer.exe when deleting the folder!

With its attacments to that process,you will be unable to delete it!

No biggie...I drop Explorer.exe on this PC quite often for experimental reasons!

Well Just to let you know. I did end up doing a factory restore. The good news is that HP has aparently designed their systems to restore without removing all the old data. So I didn't end up losing much.
