My computer has been acting up wierd latly. Advertisement keeps poping up once I start up my Internet Explorer. Here is my hijackthis log.

Welcome to the GTG Forums, I will be reviewing your HJT log.
You have quite a number of infections so this will take a few steps.
Please read through all intructions before proceeding:
You may want to print these intructions out for a reference.

First you are running HJT from a temporary directory, this can cause issues.

You can use use this self installer located here http://www.merijn.or...ackthis_sfx.exe and it will create a permanent directory on your C:\ drive. C:\Program Files\HijackThis is where it will install it.

You must first remove the older version of HJT by going to Add Remove Programs.

Once you have done this then follow the intructions provided below. Only proceed once you have created the permanent directory.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
Nailfix.zip
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:

• Restart your computer
• After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
• Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
• Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
SafeMode Help


Once in SafeMode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd.
Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Now scan with HijackThis and place a checkmark next to the following items:

We have a number of things to do here please follow all of the instructions in the order they are posted.
Please read through all of the instructions before proceeding.
You will want to either print these instructions out or save them with Notepad and put these instructions on your desktop. We will be booting into SafeMode, so you will not access to the Internet.

Download CleanUp
Install the program, dont run it yet, we will later.

Download EliteToolBar Removal Tool
Unzip LQFix and save it to your desktop, dont run it yet. We need to do this in SafeMode.

Dowload Killbox
Save it to your Desktop, again dont run it just yet.

Enable show hidden files and folders:

• Click Start.
• Open My Computer.
• Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
• Select the View Tab.
• Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
• Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
• Click Yes to confirm.
• Click OK.

Go to Start | Control Panel | Add Remove Programs
Remove the following programs if found or any variation.
WinTools
Ezula
Surf Enhance
Web Offer

Start CleanUp
When CleanUp starts go to the Options button (right side of CleanUp screen)
Uncheck cookies
This is optional, if you leave the box checked it will remove all of your cookies, at this point removing cookies is a good idea.
Click OK
Then click on the CleanUp button. This will take a short while, let it do its thing.
When asked to reboot system select No
Close CleanUp

Reboot into SafeMode:

• Restart the computer.
• As soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
• Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
• Press Enter.

Once in SafeMode please do the following:

Locate and run the LQFix.bat file, this may take a little time, just let it run.

Once the program has completed:
Scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to the following items:

Please go to Start | Run and type services.msc

A new console window will appear.
Search for the following entry if present:
WinTools for IE
or
WinToolsSvc

Right Click and select Stop if that option is available then Right Click again and select Properties
In the General Tab you will see a box that is listed as: Startup Type
Make sure the drop down box is set to Disabled
Click Apply then OK.
Close out of the console window.

We have some files that need to be removed.
Please read all of the instructions before proceeding:
You will want to print out these instructions since we will be booting into SafeMode, you will not have access to the Internet.

Reboot into SafeMode

Please run Killbox.exe that you saved to your desktop

• In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
• In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file paths listed below ONE AT A TIME (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure!):

C:\WINDOWS\CFINDU~1.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\DEZODLL.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\GOTBENC.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\GtwDocs.ico

• Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it after each one.
• When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the NO button.
• Do this after each one until you have entered the LAST file path I have listed above.

Dont reboot your system just yet.
If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again..

Now run the ETRemover.exe Tool I had you download earlier.

Run the CleanUp Program.

Reboot and post back a new HJT log and a new Findit log by using Add Reply

Did you run the Killbox program,
The Findit log looks the same???

Did you have any problems with Killbox or did it give any error messages??

oh after I finish the KillBox you told me to do, I accidentally rebooted my computer back into normal mode. I could not find the program ETRemover.exe you told me to run right after the KillBox steps, but then I just notice that the LQFix is the ETRemover.exe. So I rebooted my computer again back to safe mode and start up the LQFix and then the Cleanup.
