My DVD ROM not reading CDs

Hey !!
What happened with my DVD ROM? It can read DVDs but not CDs what shall I do with it? Its a LG. Any idea or solution please ?

How old is it?
Are you reading retail cd's or burned cd's?
Same issue with both?
Do cd's work in another system with no problem?
If yes then I would say the cd read side of the drive has failed and a replacement drive is needed.
