Hi,

I have an odd problem with my computer. I have an Inspiron E1505 running XP home. I had a rootkit virus that was resolved with the help of hijack this and a very helpful moderator on another board. Everything is working fine except I had to reinstall IE8. However, since then if I run IE8, whenever I close a window, folder, or any other open program, the image remains on the desktop (just the image)and I can't access the desktop. The only way to get rid of the images is to close IE 8 completely by stopping the processes on the task manager. Even if I only have one IE window open, there are 3 or 4 IE processes in the task manager & I have to end them all to get rid of the images and access the desktop. I don't have this problem using Firefox or any other program, just IE 8. Any ideas as to what's wrong & how to fix it? Thanks.
