Hi i recently upgraded from windows Xp to Ubuntu as my windows xp had no partition as i deleted it trying to fix another problem, but Ubuntu is working perfectly.

I want to find out how to flash my BIOS to a newer version if available
My PC is a Compaq S3060AN
and on the motherboard it says Phoenix BIOS, Pentium IV, Phoenix 2001, 006133857
My computer was brought in 2003.
Phoenix AwardBIOS CMOS Setup Utility when i am in the BIOS top of screen,
BIOS core version V6.00PG
BIOS revision 3.12 03/17/2003

If i have left anything out Please tell me and i will find it asap.
Also i am able to create floppy disks but not so much cds as my cd-rw drive does not read cds properly.

If the pc has a floppy drive most manufactures have flash utilities that will run from a floppy disk.
After reading the description at the support page I would say you don't need the updated BIOS for your Linux installation. It only adds support needed in Window.
Also in the description the file looks like a Winflash which means you have to run it from a Windows installation. There doesn't seem to be a floppy install version. If the the PC is working fine don't fix it.

I just thought that an update would be nice for the PC, as earlier when installing ubuntu i was not able to boot from usb so doesnt matter much anymore that i have it installed now.
