I have Windows 7 Starter and have been recently having trouble accessing my .exe files. Whenever i try to run my task manager i get the error msg C:\windows\system32\taskmgr.exe windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. I get the same message when i try to run system restore. I am logged in as administrator so i dont understand why it is saying this. I recently did a full scan on my computer and removed a few potential viruses so i am wondering if it is a virus doing it. I thought i removed all malware, etc but this stupid pop up keeps coming up saying my computer is infected and it tries to get me to download Live Security Suite. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this to go away!!!!!i deleted it from my program files and everything!!! it is really irritating me and i think this may have something to do with why i cant access my .exe files!!! plz plz help me!!! thank u!!

Hello and welcome to G2G.

From the sounds of your post it seems like you are inquiring about receiving Malware assistance with your computer. Unfortunately you will need to create a new thread and post the required logs in this forum here: Malware Forum. Please make sure you follow the steps outlined in this thread here: START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the requested logs in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post the required logs, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

Best of Luck.

Cheers,
