Hey everybody, I am quite new to this site. Not sure if this is the right place for this topic.

I will try to describe my situation as good as I can. Also, I should say I am not very good at this area.

Few days ago I downloaded a program that I realised was a keylogger. When I runned the program (before I knew it was a keylogger) my cmd popped up and some text was written there for a few seconds.

Afterwards, I restored my entire C drive in hope to get rid of the keylogger (I used acronis). However, I am not sure that it was removed. I asked a friend of mine, and was told that there's still a chance that the keylogger remains.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I have little knowledge about this. If the cmd exe file is located on my C drive and I restore my C drive, shouldn't my cmd be "reseted" and therefore the keylogger should be gone?

If not, what can I do to get rid of it?

I should also add, OS is win XP

Thanks for reading.
