outlook 2007 crashing with error in ntdll.dll module

please assist with my problem.
i am running outlook 2007 on vista.when i try to attach files from especially my flash disk, outlook crashes with this error message:

Faulting application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 12.0.6212.1000, time stamp 0x46e03e45, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e03824, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00031d62, process id 0x1278, application start time 0x01cb11e5b29a4865.

i am also getting a similar message in firefox:

Faulting application firefox.exe, version 1.9.2.3743, time stamp 0x4bb4be02, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e03824, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00031d62, process id 0x1194, application start time 0x01cb11e86b65d600.

when i try to synchronise my briefcase it crashes too.
please help me fix this problem(s).
