Hiya

I've already learn't html and css for website design and I would like to know if Javascript & Ajax is the next thing up from html or should I be considering something else before delving into the Javascript and Ajax world.

If it helps the book which i own is JavaScript and Ajax for the Web

JavaScript and Ajax are good tools to learn, but you might want to go with something like PHP which is a server-side scripting language. It gives you more dynamic web pages than JavaScript/Ajax which is client-side scripting languages.

Cheers AstraNut that site has been bookmarked when I know enough I shall redo the whole site of mine and hopefully when its all done it will look nice, simple yet dyanamic might take a few years but the site has been built I just need to tweak it but its simple and easy so thats the best part.

If your site uses outdated code, like tables or the HTML 4.01 doctype coding and deprecated tags, you might want to redo your site to HTML 5 and CSS 3. Would be worthwhile to do so. If you already use XHTML 1.0 strict coding, then there's no need unless you want to recode some pages using the terrific new CSS 3 properties.

Forget the fact they offer "FREE Website Builder". They ALL do. Even the free hosting sites. Better to use a FREE pro web builder:

Not sure how much "£4.10 inc VAT per month" is in U.S. dollars. My hosting was paid for 3-years and it costs $3.95 per month. No taxes.See New Clients. I don't know if you want a server in the U.K. only either. If so, I'm not that familiar with them, but you can compare mine against what you would be getting.

I have a web editor so thats not an issue £4.10 is roughly about $6.20 according to a currency converter if that helps you

$6.20 is about the average. Some or less, some more, but you always have to look at what the full package is offering.

Great. I got one around here somewhere, too. Just pre-ordered a book on HTML 5 and CSS 3.0 at Amazon.com. Got to get all that memorized again now.

html i have no issue with yet haha the only problem im having is intergrating php into html pages and doing php only as every time i try to preview it, its like no your not lol where am i going wrong here

But you'll soon get use to html, I just need to get rid of tables and start using div tags

Are you previewing the PHP on your computer? If so, you have to install a complete package like XAMPP.

I have tried apache and xampp but to no avail but with xampp i might not of installed the whole lot. I just uploaded a sample php page to me site and that worked now to continue and add extra functions to me site which should be fun
