slow start up

I have the amd 64 bit 3200 cpu and 512 ddr ram and i am using xp pro. it takes me 2 min to load into the window is that normal??

well if you go into your start all programs and find a folder called startup and if theres not many things in ther then it may be something more to look into, but if you have alot of programs that are booting up at your start up it might be slow

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

There are also some programs that let you monitor all the startup programs and take out or add in whatever you like.

I don't have much stuff running in the startup i don't think.
the strange thing is that my mb logo thing takes a min and the xp pro takes another min and adds up to 2 min. My mb is asus k8v se deluxe. it seem the mb loading/scaning at the begginig takes a long time i don't know if i have some bio problem or the mb itselfe supose scan for that long so if anyone got the same mb plese tell me that happends to you to.

For your specs, that's too long!

You have at least one virus or trojan, and signs of a hijacker.

Please run a free online virus scan here:
http://housecall.antivirus.com/

And a free trojan scan here:
http://www.moosoft.com/

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware from here (if you already have Ad-Aware installed, make sure that it is the latest version and always go online and update it before you run it).

After installing AAW, and before running the program, you must FIRST update the reference file.

Now do the following:

Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:
Check: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Press "Scan Now"

- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:

Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives. It will find a number of spyware files and registry keys. Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"

Now press "Next" again. It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.

Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

Run Hijack This again and post back a fresh log.

Click Here to download TheKillbox. Extract TheKillBox.exe from the zip file and double click it to open it up. In the 'Enter Full Path and Filename to Delete' box, copy and paste these entries one by one, clicking 'Find and Kill This File' after each one:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\zgblzx.exe

Click 'Exit' when done.

Note: If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, download and run: http://www.javacools...ngfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

I also noticed you don't have critical updates installed for XP. This may be the reason you're getting reinfected. Visit Windows Update and install all critical updates.
