Go Start>Run ("Start Search" in Vista/7), type in:
sfc /scannow
Click OK (hold CTRL, and SHIFT, hit Enter in Vista/7).
Have Windows CD/DVD handy (with Vista/7, most likely, you won't need it).
If System File Checker (sfc) will find any errors, it may ask you for the CD/DVD (rarely in Vista/7 case).

I tried doing that but for some reason it has some error and closes in less then a second. :)

"You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility." When I run it as an administrator it still closes..

"sfc" won't show any "done" messages.
Navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder. You'll see CBS.log file.
Open it in a Notepad and see, if there is a bunch of entries with today's date.

There is two files: CBS.log and CbsPersist_20100714005129.cab. I tried to open the CBS.log but got Access is denied, but I was able to open the CbsPersist_20100714005129.cab one. The dates go from July 2 to July 13.

IF, you ran "sfc" today, delete all entries from that log, except for today ones, zip the file and attach the file to your next reply.
I'd like to take a look.

It doesn't look, "sfc" ran at all.

I suggest, you run repair installation: http://www.w7forums....tall-t1204.html

Repair installation is not going to do anything because I've had this problem ever since I've set up my Windows 7 computer....

Was it a clean install, or some upgrade?

Just to clarify.
Are we talking here about downloading, or installing programs?
What browser do you use?
