Let's take a quick look at a registry setting or two for your problem.
Click on the Start Orb and type
regedit in the Search field...click on the regedit link at the top of the results to open the application (Registry Editor). Please...make no changes to the registry unless instructed to do so.
In Registry Editor's left pane, expand (click on the little triangle)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then
Software, then
Microsoft, then
Windows, then
CurrentVersion. then
Explorer, and click once on
FileExts.
Besides (Default), what other items are listed in the right pane?
