A couple days ago, a friend sent me a photo over skype. The photo wouldn't open, but now all my programs (except for Safari) open with Windows Photo Gallery.

For instance, when I try to open iTunes or Internet Explorer, I get a message that says "Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video. This file format is not supported, or you don't have the latest updates to photo gallery."

Any help is really appreciated!

...and now, for some reason, everything is opening with iTunes, except for Safari. This is really frustrating, so any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Hello carlasaysgoteam...

Let's take a quick look at a registry setting or two for your problem.

Click on the Start Orb and type regedit in the Search field...click on the regedit link at the top of the results to open the application (Registry Editor). Please...make no changes to the registry unless instructed to do so.

In Registry Editor's left pane, expand (click on the little triangle) HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then Software, then Microsoft, then Windows, then CurrentVersion. then Explorer, and click once on FileExts.

Besides (Default), what other items are listed in the right pane?

Thank you so much for replying!

The only thing listed in the right pane is "default", under type it has REG_SZ and under data, it has (value not set)

Thanks again!
