I recently bought a Toshiba laptop (Vista) and at first my printer worked Ok, but the scanner didn't. Now the printer only prints a line at the top of a page and the same line in the middle. I tis still working OK with the XP on my old computer.

On your Vista laptop, did you ensure that the printer driver you installed is compatible with Vista?
XP drivers definitely don't work properly on Vista.

Driver download page HERE
Click on the Microsft tab and you will see 3 drivers.
  • XP,
  • Vista X64
  • Vista
You want the regular Vista driver and not the X64
