This only started today, and only for some pages, but it's really frustrating.

Basically, I try to open a page, it loads fine and then the window goes blank white and stops. Then if I click on the blank window a pop-up appears with an ad... though if I leave it open and try again, I can get another pop-up, but they come up blank too.

It doesn't happen with my email or facebook, but it does for the public transport information site (translink.com.au) and a forum I visit (talkbass.com). It also does it for geekstogo!!

It doesn't happen for IE, only Chrome. I've tried reinstalling Chrome and have scanned with both Spybot and Malwarbytes Anti Malware, with no results returned at the complete of their scans.

I'm at a loss, I've searched the net and no answers. It doesn't do it here on the work computer, also running the latest version of Chrome.

Please help!!

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post an OTListIt log in THAT forum.

Thanks for the reply.

I did everything as instructed in the Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide and whilst the scans came up with no results (ie no detected infections) it seems to have fixed the problem somehow, at least for now. If the problem returns I will try some more things in that section and then post a new topic if necessary.

Thanks again :)
