Transfering itunes need help

Need help please my friend has a lot of itune music on her old computer and wants to transfer them to her new 1 . I was wondering if I can place her old hard drive into her new pc as a secondary hard drive and copy them over that way? It would be a lot easier than burning them onto a disk. Thank you
