All fonts changed after uninstalling a game

I decided to uninstall L4D1 (finally), and after I did I noticed all my fonts suddenly changed(by changed I mean suddenly italicized and bolded) . I am not sure how/why this happened, (wondering if maybe it had something to do with me downloading a game from steam at the same time?) but it is very annoying. A large portion of all fonts have been changed, but any website that seems to 'set' its font type is still fine (so I am assuming my actual font files are okay). I attempted a fix I found online by going to appearance etc., but I cannot set a font there (its grey'd out). Any Idea's guys?

(o.s. is windows 7: 64 bit)
