Autoplay interference

Occasionally but sometimes incessantly, an autoplay menu appears top left on my screen. This causes the cursor to disappear from screen and the keyboard to freeze up. What causes this and PLEASE how DO I get rid? NB It has taken nearly ten minutes just to be able to write the above sentence!
