So by default, Windows XP has a blue scheme, where the toolbar, tops of the windows, etc. are blue.

I would like to change this to a more attractive purple color scheme. Is there any way to accomplish this? I've tried messing around with the settings in Display Properties, but to no avail.

Thanks. :)

Howszit Chopin?

In the display control panel, go to the appearance tab, then click on the advanced button. There you can choose what part of the display to change and its color. It used to be higher up in the controls but I guess they thought they should hide it a bit deeper

Hope this helps...

Yep, I've tried that. However, that doesn't work with the Windows XP scheme -- only with Windows Classic. Only the background actually changes color; the toolbar, windows, etc. still remain XP-style blue.

Howdy Chopin...

In the Display Settings, look under the Desktop tab. You should be able to scroll through a list there and change the colors to whatever you wish...right down to choosing you own gradient colors for the Title Bar. You'll be looking for entries such as "Active Window", "Inactive Window", "Title Bar", etc. You can choose the colors from the color pickers associated with each item.
