Hi,

I have recently had some virus problems with my pc. I used to have windows ME but have upgraded to XP and the viruses are now gone. However, after completing this i have found out that my computer freezes about 1 or 2 mins after i connect to the internet.

This happens only when i use my 56k modem and not when i connect to cable internet at my parents house.

I have changed the modem and still the same problem.

I have re-installed the drivers for the original modem and still the same problem.

Has anyone heard of this happening before? If so, can anyone give me a little bit of guidance on how to fix it?

Thanks in advance

Matt
