I had a recent surge of malware (mostly scareware stuff), so I ran Malwarebytes. It found a bunch of stuff, but after removal I was still getting a nasty Google redirect. I then decided to run Combofix unsupervised (I know I'm not supposed to).

After the restart, I got the BSOD stop error "0xC000021A" and can't logon to Windows. I tried safe mode and I get the same BSOD. I tried the Recovery Console and all I get is a black screen.

I tried booting from the Windows CD to run a repair, but for some reason the boot process seems identical to booting from the hard drive and I don't get the option to run a repair. It just goes straight to the BSOD. Perhaps I am doing something incorrectly here? I changed the BIOS order and everything but I never get the option to repair or reinstall Windows.

Is there anything that could be done about this? I know I made a mess of things, but I've run out of ideas. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm running Windows XP Pro.
