So this morning I started up windows 7 like I usually do, I signed in. Lo-and-behold my programs' icons are now little pieces of paper with the internet explorer logo on them. I tried clicking some and it pulls up a window saying "Would you like to save or open the download?
I clicked save, and open; it always just closes the window and brings it back up. I shut-down my computer and am using someones lap-top.

help? I have a home recording studio running from this computer, and have programs I NEED on here. what should I do?

My Specs:
500GB hard-drive(last time I checked was only half full)
pretty new ATI Graphics card.
Same for sound card.
running Windows 7
