  • Press the "Express"...button to have all "critical" updates shown.
  • Make sure all critical updates and patches are checked for download and installation.
  • Press the Install Updates ... button to begin downloading and installing the updates

High once again. OTL will still not run for me for some strange reason :)
None of the three different extensions will run. I have also tried using OTH, but
same as before. Screen blanks and when i click to start OTL nothing happens.

On a side note, i had problems with SP3 on my HP Laptop hence the reason i've not
installed it. But as your the one that's more tech minded than me, if you reckon it's
a must, then i'll download and install it. :)

Awaiting further advice. Thank you..

Hello,

I forgot about that. Lets see what we have here:

Please do the following:

Go Start > Run and copy/paste the following single-line command into the Run box and click OK:

cmd /c del /f/a/q "C:\Program Files\Veetle\Player\vtl_hfax.exe"

After doing the above please go ahead and proceed with updating to Service Pack 3.

High SweetTech.. Sorry once again about the delay.

Ok, i've run that command and it seemed to do the job. I've also installed SP3, but i've had a few Blue Screens and some other problems with browser crashing (FireFox) and a couple of other programs going haywire at times. Not quiet sure whats going on there. I've done another KAV Scan and the log, below is clean.
I'll await any further instruction. Thanks once again.

  • The program should not take long to finish it's job
  • Once its finished it should automatically reboot your machine,
  • if it doesn't, manually reboot to ensure a complete clean

NEXT:

Please download JkDefrag by Jeroen Kessels
  • Unzip the program to a folder.
  • Reboot to release most of the files in use.

High.
I've ran TFC and JkDefrag but cant run the OTL Custom Scan because i'm still unable to run OTL.
I think the browser crashing was to do with an exploited flash, which i've uninstalled and updated as it hasn't crashed since.

What i'm left with now is a very slow boot time, and one instance of svchost.exe(NETWORK SERVICE) maxing out my CPU at times.
I can see this in the task manager.

Anything else i should do..?

    %systemroot%\Fonts\*.ini2
    %systemroot%\Fonts\*.exe
    %systemroot%\system32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86\*.*
    %systemroot%\REPAIR\*.bak1
    %systemroot%\REPAIR\*.ini
    %systemroot%\system32\*.jpg
    %systemroot%\*.jpg
    %systemroot%\*.png
    %systemroot%\*.scr
    %systemroot%\*._sy
    %APPDATA%\Adobe\Update\*.*
    %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Favorites\*.*
    %APPDATA%\Microsoft\*.*
    %PROGRAMFILES%\*.*
    %APPDATA%\Update\*.*

    %systemroot%\*.config
    %systemroot%\system32\*.db
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU

Still no luck with it renamed. Here is a SS of trying to start it in safe mode
where it does attempt to run but then closes again. (in task manager)
