The server i am using doesn't accept file extensions longer than 3 characters, which means that all webpages must be saved in the .htm format and not .html. Although both are exactly the same, the server will not pick up .html files. Yes, its ridiculous but i don't own the server. To make this even more ridiculous, Dreamweaver 8 does not give the option to save pages as .htm. The option for saving files as .htm falls under "Save as .html" bracket. I have tried physically changing the file extension of the page to .htm but the server still doesn't pick it up. I have tried copy+pasting into notepad and saving as index.htm but still doesn't get picked up. MS Word 2010 does however allow you to save files as .htm, and that works, but i don't really want to design my entire website in Word.

Does anyone know a way to force dreamweaver to save files as .htm or a converter, or even a web design package that allows you to specifically save files as .htm?

Thanks in advance
