It worked normally yesterday, but when I tried to start it up this afternoon , I got no response (not even the power light).


I have no idea what to do D: I tried pulling out the batter and also the "f7 + f8 power" thing, to no avail.


Please help me, my laptop contains my life ;-;

First I would test the ac adapter with a DVOM. Set the scale to DC volts. Put one end of test lead inside end of adapter (where it plugs in motherboard) and black wire to outside. You should have adapter voltage, probably 19 volts. I would also remove the cd/dvd drive. I have had those drives shorted and cause a no start. If it still does not work then more than likely your motherboard is bad. Tom

First things first: disregard the above post about the battery. Boo for spammers.

Is your AC adapter working? It should have a light on it, either on the power brick or on the very end of the cable (the end that plugs in to the laptop). If it has a light, it is good.

Try removing the battery and the AC adapter, holding down the <Fn> key, then plugging in the AC adapter. This should 1) turn on the computer and 2) start some diagnostic tests. Starting up with this method, are there any signs of life? If so, it could be the power button itself.
