I bought an awesome Audio-Technica ATR3350 lavalier microphone to use with my laptop. My sound card BARELY picks up sound from it, however, so I called Audio-Technica product support. They said I needed to enable the Mic Boost option and turn it up in my Recording Devices. Unfortunately, Conexant Audio doesn't offer Mic Boost. I know the mic isn't the problem. My other mics work but are very quiet. I tried the awesome new mic on someone else's PC and it worked GREAT with their audio driver (Realtek).
So we came to the conclusion that I need a new audio driver of some kind. Can someone help me determine how I can get a new audio driver that will work with my sound card? How do I find out which sound card I have? Is there some way I can get RealTek for my laptop instead of Conexant? Thanks in advance!!!
