Hello,

My name is Anne, please help. Whenever I try to open a movie file (I'm using AVI), an error message comes out and said that it needs to close. This is the error message :-

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00000000

My computer becomes a little slower each and every time this happens.

What should I do next?

Thanks for your help!!!!

Does it happen with any movie?

What happens, if you open VLC first, and try to open movie file through VLC, not by double clicking on a movie file in Windows Explorer?

Sometimes. Some movies are ok to open with VLC, but then I never had this problem before. Umm, sorry I don't understand your 2nd question.

Do you open movies by double clicking on a movie file in Windows Explorer, or do you open VLC first and open movies from there?

Where are those movies from?

Ohhhh ok, yes I double click from Windows Explorer. I have never opened VLC first and open the files from there. I download the movies over the net.

No, I don't think so. Maybe some are, some are not. I had this problem since I downloaded Avatar. When I tried opening it, the error message comes out and says it needed to close. Then my task bar goes blank for a while, and everything comes back to normal. Not quite as normal, my computer becomes a little bit slower.
