Before I Start --- Am I on the right track?

Hi. I'm about to follow the preliminary steps and clean my computer, but my basic question is this: I had turned off computer access (by dialing in to our network address and disabling their computers -- i don't know what you call this but I know how to do it!) to my daughters' computers till they got homework done, and now they need their computers for more homework and I don't want to type in the passwords, address etc while my own computer is infected till I get it clean. Is this
right? Is there another way way to get theirs on while I clean mine? Or is this just an ironic thing and they have to wait, too?

LOL! Nearly everyone I know comes to me for help with spyware, cuz I usually stay free and preventative and keep updated cleaners on disk in case they can't log on for the programs -- but I slacked off and clicked yes to s&d's reg query for msconfigs while installing a newly downloaded program from a p2p network i'd thought was a secure file. I immediately realized my error and turned off internet access while searching to see what had gotten downloaded. Found p2pnetwork trying to download itself (which resumed trying for a while when I reconnected) and found a plethora of hidden zips in my shared download folder. Also found the msconfig in program files and some z.txt, x.txt things in c.

So i got gotten good (sigh).

Anyway, just wondering if I can get theirs up while I clean mine, *without* compromising the security of our home network.
