My Windows XP crashed completely, and I followed your repair instructions to perform and in-place upgrade. As part of the startup I had to enter my activation number. Finally I was able to restart XP, and my original (pre-crash) on-screen display came up, along with a command to activate windows with Microsoft before I can log on. However, when I agree and click on the activate button my computer freezes.

Do you have any suggestions as what to do next?
