Could i also ask if i was going to change my router security to WEP would this mean my router could be hacked easier? i was thinking of changing because my nintendo ds does not support my current setting it only supports WEP or a unlocked router

Depending on router, you may see following security settings: WEP, WPA, WPA-TPIK, WPA-AES, WPA2-TPIK and WPA2-AES
WEP would provide the lowest security level, while WPA2-AES would be the highest.

You don't have to buy anything. Don't click on anything at the top of that page, but on your router model and follow on-screen instructions.
