This is my first time to use the Forum, sure hope you can help me out. I've gone through all the steps and here's my Hijackthis log. I sure hope ya'll can help. Aurora may just be an annoyance, but it's a BIG annoyance!!

Download Ewido Security Suite at http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ and install it. Update to the newest definitions. Do NOT run it yet.

Please download nailfix at http://users.pandora...chy/nailfix.zip (for Windows XP) or http://users.pandora...y/nailfix2k.zip (for Windows 2000) Unzip it to the desktop but do NOT run it yet.

You have the Peper infection. Download PeperUninstall http://www.greyknigh...erUninstall.exe. Make sure you are connected online to run this program. Run it once and reboot. Then run it again for the second time. Download PeperFix http://www.greyknigh...py/PeperFix.exe and save it to your Desktop. Run it and click 'Find and Fix' (reboot if prompted).

Reboot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work.

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on nailfix.cmd (or nailfix2k.bat if you have Windows 2000). Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Next run a full scan in Ewido. Post the log from the Ewido scan here.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

You know, I was just looking at my second HijackThis log and it looks like everything I deleted is still there! I swear I did everything I was supposed to!

I just want to make sure about this. Delete the two hijackthis.log files you have previously. Run a new scan and save the log. Are those still showing up?

If they are, I want you to make sure that Microsoft Antispyware is not running (check the system tray near the clock also). If it is, close it now. Do the fixes again.

When finished, restart and post a new HijackThis log.

So what was wrong? Was it because you posted the wrong logs or was it Microsoft Antispyware that blocked the fixes? If you checked and fixed those entries in HijackThis, then I assume MS Antispyware blocked it during the first run.

Your log is clean.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. Restart your computer and uncheck the same box to enable System Restore.

Make sure to get the latest updates for Windows and Internet Explorer at http://v5.windowsupd...t.aspx?ln=en-us.

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-Spyware Tutorial and use the tools provided.

Are there any problems now? If not, you should be set to go.

I'm not exactly what happened with the log. I rebooted in safe mode re-ran HiJackThis and posted that log was what I posted. I'm happy to report that after getting your last message I went back on, ran the XoftSpy anti-spyware. It found a couple of Lycos and Three CoolWeb Keys which it was able to eliminate. Everything comes up clean now! I've turned System Restore back on and I'm going to create a manual restore point. I've also finished getting my windows updates. Before I asked you for help I used my original disk to repair windows because I had damaged one of the files with anti-spyware programs early on. There was a lot of updating to be done!!

I will definately look at the Spyware Tutorial and share it with my kids!
