I came to work today and found out that we have a virus on my work computer. I manage a group of people and we all share the computer on different shifts. The virus is redirecting our internet to various sites and it will not even view our company's Intranet homepage. Some of the sites were being redirected to are:

validclick.com
allhealthlives.com
info.com
saveandcoupon.com
happili.com

I'm really worried about getting in trouble and blamed for getting the virus (cause I manage the people that were "surfing the net" wile they were supposed to be working) so I haven't get to our IT department yet. I have ran Ad-Aware and it removed cookies and a few Trojans, but the problem is still there. I have attached a hijackthis file in hopes that someone can help me out.

Download ComboFix here :

Link 1
Link 2

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Here is a guide on how to disable them

    Click me

  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt log in your next reply.

I'm unable to stop the McAfee program from runing on my computer before running combo.exe. I think this is because i'm on a network and my IT department has locked users out from doing so. As I stated before, i'm trying to keep IT out of this as long as I can.

Would it even be worth running ComboFix.EXE with McAfee running in the background?

I even tryed to "end task" in the "processes" tab of the windows task manager and it wont let me go that rout either.

I can't run the combofix.exe program because it apparently wont connect to the internet due to the issues i've been having with this redirect virus. Any ideas?

I had a buddie in IT even log in as admin and turn the virus scan program off on the computer and he couldn't get it to run either. He tryed it on his computer at work and the program ran just fine. So it definetly looks like it's due to the virus issue messing with my internet connection.

for some reason it wont run. I click the program and it pulls up a box saying "the publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?" I click "RUN", and then it doesn't pull up any more box's or seems to do anything.
