First time trying to build a pc

I selected following parts till now

ASUS ASUS P6X58D-E for motherboard

and

Intel I7- 950 as CPU.

looking for advice on

GPU ( i am not a gamer but do burn DVD and watch h.264 DVD)

Power Supply

Hard Disk

Memory

and questions

do I need a wireless card for wi fi ??

how can I make a PC with remote control. like I am watching movie and I can stop , pause etc with a remote
how can I accomplish that both hardware and software wise.

I already have win 7 ultimate 64 bit, wireless key board and mouse and 24 inch monitor.

my budget is around $800.
