A friend has OExpress 6, but her Spellcheck is greyed out and I can not get it to work. On my version it works fine. Can anyone tell me how to switch the spell check on?

Thanks

Hey calx and welcome to the site,

Usually when a operation is greyed out it means that it cannot execute at that time. Did she just start she just recently have this problem, or was after installing a new version of Microsoft Office? Also reinstalling Outlook may help.

She doesn't have office. Perhaps this is the problem. But I was under the impression that Outlook Express is an independent program?!

It would only have been installed along with WinXP I guess. I looked under Add/Remove components of XP but there was only Outlook Ex. as an option no further details.

It's got me stumped.
