Problem began this morning. I use Firefox browser and Yahoo and/or Google search engine. When the results come up and I click on a link, I am either being redirected to random websites, or a page comes up telling me "server not found" even though I know the websites are valid.
Interesting note, my anti-virus program is Avast. Avast automatically updates everyday without a hitch. This morning Avast was unable to connect to server to update virus definitions. I ran Avast to see if my computer was infected with anything, it came back showing 0 files infected. I also have Malwarebytes installed on this computer. Have used it many times before without a hitch. Now when I double click on the desktop shortcut, or try to access the program via start menu, Malwarebytes does not load.
It appears I can type out a website address and access those websites just fine. The redirection occurs when I select a link from a search engine and click on it.
