Are you still getting the same error on both services ... From what I have been able to discover we may need to do a repair install - can you get access to an XP cd ?

Yes - I still cannot connect to the internet both wirelessly and hardwired.

I don't think I have access to an XP cd unfortunately - just the Vista Home cd that came with my machine.

Unfortunately we have exhausted all options to repair this, have you considered upgrading XP to Vista ?

I did have Vista for about 2 years but the first oportunity I got I went to 7 - Vista is better than XP but still as buggy as @@@. 7 is what Vista should have been !

If you do get an XP disc then the repair install tutorial is here

If I pull my xp product key out of the registry - is there a way to get the disc to do the repair?

Jellybean key finder

Sorry pressed the wrong button

Can extract the key for you - do you have access to a cd or are you going to use the i386 folder ?

I have my windows XP key now but do not have a CD. I'm not familiar with the i386 folder. How do I use that to do the repair? I may be able to get a CD tomorrow but I'm not 100% sure.

I feel would be best to wait for the disc - as I do not have access at the moment to an XP system

OK - let me check tomorrow to see if I can get a disc and I'll get back to you. So the regular install disc allows me to either restore or repair windows? Do you think the option to repair will fix the internet connectivity issue without losing any of my files stored on the HD?

I was not able to get the windows xp disc this week. I'm hoping maybe next week. Can you please either keep this thread open until next week or let me know if you have another way for me to do the repair without the disc. I do have the product key. Thanks!

Without the disc would be a problem - If it is more than 10 days PM me to let me know as I will lose notifications on this otherwise
