Hello:
I DO NOT have a virus or any thing malicious.

I only want help with 2 simple tasks:

1) On your main toolbar at the top of the page in (Word) "Winword 2000" far over to the left is your "File" drop-down menu. I would like to know how to keep it EXTENDED, all the way down, without it scrolling back up. If you take your mouse and point on the 2 tiny arrows, this extends the "File" window more, but mine always goes back up. I would like to know how you keep it EXTENDED, PERMANENTLY.

2) ALSO, when I open a file (or letter, document), and, then, I turn OFF my computer, the next day, when I turn my computer back ON, the previous day's files (letters) disappear. I would like to know how to make them STAY on the "File" menu, for the next day, when I come back, so that I can see what I was working on? I know there is a way to do this, I just don't know how.

I am sure there is some nice person out there, who can tell me how to do these two simple tasks. Thanks, so much, for your time.
