Okay....Everyting looking good; on the internet; still have one item in Device Manager showing a problem and that's an "Unknown PCI Device" Location: PCI Bus 0, Device 5, function 0...."Drivers not installed. (Code 28)
I let the system check online for driver updates but nothing was found.

You go to Hardware then Device Manager.
You click on Update driver tab
You then click on NO for can it use Windows Update
You then click on Install from list or specific location.
You then click Browse and find the driver in the place where you have downloaded it to.
You then click that and it will appear in the box.
Then just follow the instructions.

I did that and ran through all the driver files for the eMachine I downloaded from their site and none worked. I also tried the internet search with no results.

Trying to do two jobs at once here.
Installing Ubuntu for someone on laptop and working this.
Did not notice that you had things working.
Have you got sound.
Go to Device Manager and give me the ID of the unknown device.
that is when you double click that unknown device it is on the details tab.
I think it will still have them listed

I do not have sound.

Apparently it's an Nvidia HD Audio Driver. I'm in the companies site and looking at several drivers, just trying to sort through them.

Where did you get it Nvidia automatic search OR from the emachines site.

Pleased do not forget to update to SP3 as support for SP2 has finished and you will not receive any security updates.

Nvidia...had a time getting through all the codes though. Was a Realtek driver.
