Hello there,

Yesterday I rebooted my PC and it took alot longer than usual for all

the programs to start once Windows had loaded.

I cannot seem to find the problem, but I have noticed that svchost.exe

is taking alot more memory than it used to (25-30% when idle).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the Hijackthis log.

Hi dj10,

During startup the svchost.exe process checks the "services" section of the registry and determines which services have to be loaded.
Looking at your hijackthis log it seems that there is a problem with your services as a lot of them have a "file missing" behind them (the O23 entries).
This also seems to be supported by the fact that you have a very small amount of running processes for a normal boot mode.

However, I am not fully qualified to help you with your hijackthis log on this forum. You will be better of posting your hijackthis log on the Virus, Spyware, Malware removal forum, as this could be the cause and they are able to check your entire hijackthis log there as well. You can find it at the top of the GeekstoGo forum.

Hope to help,

Mythio

Hello and thanks for the fast reply,

The reason for the small amount of processes on boot is due to me disabling almost everything to try solve the problem, however it did not help.

I will give it a go in the other forum, but I have done a full scan with Kaspersky and it comes back clean so I'm not sure that I am infected.

Thanks again :D
