Can someone please help me. I have a Dell OPTI Plex GX260 with windows xp OS al everything says that I have a pentium 4 processor except the system information which says i have a x86 family 15 model stepping 7 genuineintel 1992 mhz are thay the same or is there a problem

This refers to a 2.0 Ghz processor. This could very well be the Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz processor considering the model of your laptop, so there is no problem :-)
The information in sysinfo is just the "geek" way of describing your processor (speed).
