Hello! Suddenly on startup my HP notebook won't boot correctly. It runs Startup Repair (even automatically when booting using SafeMode and/or use last known good settings) and then gives the following message:

Startup Repair could not repair this computer automatically.

Problem details:

Problem signature:
Problem event name: StartupRepairV2
PS1: AutoFailover
PS2: 6.0.6001.18000.6.0.6001.18000
PS3: 6
PS4: 655370
PS5: CorruptFile
PS6: CorruptFile
PS7: 3221225624
PS8: 3
PS9: WrpRepair
PS10: 1168

OS version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

To my knowledge, there have been no new programs or drives installed. Of course, like an idiot, I don't remember if/when I backed up, and I'd like to preserve my data.

I would really appreciate your help!! Thank you!!

Startup Repair is quite possibly the most useless addition to WIndows Vista and 7 Microsoft could ever have come up with, because it very rarely if ever fixes anything. You might as well ask the Tooth Fairy.

This might be of interest if you know which file Windows is upset about:
