I hadn't used my Epson 880 Printer on my HP Pavilion 6730 with Windows XP.
I had only used my Epson 880 with my Gateway with Windows 98SE.

So, of course my HP Pavilion informed me it doesn't have the Driver.
NOW ... I have the Epson 880 Driver CD that came with the Printer.
I was prompted with 3 choices.
I forget what the 1st one was, but I know it wasn't for Windows XP as this Printer is before Windows XP was even around.
But, the 2nd choice was for Windows 2000 and something or other.
The 3rd choice was for Windows 95, 98 and Me.

My question is ... would the Windows 2000 Driver work with my Windows XP?
The reason I wonder that is because as per this link:

http://www.epson.com...ndows&x=27&y=11

those first 2 Drivers seem to be for BOTH Windows XP and Windows 2000.
So WOULD the Windows 2000 Driver from my CD work with my Windows XP?

Possibly not due to all the security/driver and service pack updates XP has had since the disk was manufactured.
Try the download option because according to the FAQs at the link you provided drivers are available for Vista and 7 (something you do not find so often for older components) so I cannot see you having any issues with XP.

Okay, Thanks, Phill.

Follow up question.
How do I install these Drivers on my Windows XP?

From the CD it would of course have been easy. :D
But, just outright installing stand alone Drivers ... I don't believe I've ever done that. Well, I did once about a year ago installed a Driver for my Monitor. Indications seemed to be that I did it correctly. But, the Monitor results didn't change anything, so I had my doubts as to whether I even did it correctly. And even then, I don't even remember how I performed THAT Driver install. DOH!

Download and save the drivers and have a look and see if there is a "read me" file, if there is one just follow the instructions, some will tell you that you (must) install the drivers (before) connecting the printer or the installation will fail.

It's DONE, Phill! :D
When I clicked to download, a little note popped up that it was going to be a self-extracting file ... and that if a "Stop Searching" Button displayed, to just make sure the Printer was connected and Powered ON ... then to just click on the "Stop Searching" Button.

I followed those instructions and the Driver installed with no problem.
That's the upside.
The downside is that just as I already knew, the Color Cartridge is low.
And since it is low, I can't initiate the Clean the Head function.
And since I hadn't used the Printer in ages, the print is of course horrendous, as in almost nothing there. Doh!

Oh well, but the Printer did work. It just needs the Color Cartridge.
It wasn't a priority anyway. I just wanted to print out a list of camping things for my Dad, which my nephew was supposed to have printed out like 3 months ago.

Thanks, Phill! ;)
