I am back, and after following several guides, nothing has worked. After removing Cycbot:b's, I tried shutting down my computer. Nothing happened. I tried doing:

Start>Shutdown

Alt F4>Shutdown

Start>Restart

Pressing the power button

However, it just closed all of my applications and remained at my desktop...

So, I tried using MBAM, and it came up clean. However, after updating it, it detected 2 infectious items. I tried to remove them, but it asked me to restart my computer. The obvious choice was 'yes'. I pressed it, watch my applications close and nothing happened. Also, when all my applications close, ALL my programs run fine, albeit suffering from slow performance...

I run:

Windows Security Essentials (Live protection)
MBAM (Occasional scans)
Windows Defender (Default)

ANY help is appreciated and welcome.

Try clicking the Start button, then typing in:

shutdown -s -t 0 -f

and pressing [Enter]. If it works, (i.e., your computer shutdown), create a shortcut with that command on your Desktop.

BTW, to shutdown most computers with their On/Off button, you have to hold the button in for at least 4-5 seconds.

Thanks for the fast reply, but a few questions:

1. If this works, do I just make the shortcut and resort to that everytime to shutdown?
2. Does this command help my restarts etc?

Ok, just tried it. It's been about a minute, and I see no obvious result.

Try using Windows' "System Restore" to return Windows to a previous state when your computer was functioning correctly.
