I have this problem for quite a while now. I was browsing through some websites in Sep, 2010 and caught a virus. I have Symantec Antivirus. I downloaded mbam and spybot S&D. mbam and spybot were not able to run so I ran them by renaming the exe files. I could find some trojan viruses,spyware etc which I removed. but I wasn't able to get complete cleaning. I don't use this computer much but once in a while. I noticed that my searches were redirecting to some random websites. get-search-results.com , foxnewsinfo.com, relsport.com, nllevitra.com etc. I have to hit back button and click on the result twice to get to proper page showed in the search. I also noticed that I am still not able to run mbam, and spybot without renaming their exe. but when I run after renaming those tools do not find anything.I also noticed that my laptop is not able to go to hibernation or standby. Once in a while it also shows some error "memory could not be written" or svchost.exe encountered an error and needed to close.
