I am running Win7. I have noticed recently that when I shutdown my computer, instead of taking only seconds, it is now taking around 10 minutes or more. While it is attempting to shutdown, I notice that my cable modem, router, and light on the computer near the start button continue to blink at a rapid place. Is this normal or could a hacker be stealing my info? Lastly, I have read in the past about programs thatyou can download that allows you do a quick shutdown. Would this be something that can be used safely and if so, can you name one that is considered good? Any suggestions you can make to me is greatly appreciated.

... could a hacker be stealing my info? ...

Yes, could be.

Recommend visiting our "Virus, Spyware & Malware Removal" forum and following the "Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide" instructions. This will guide you through a few preparations, as well as instructions for posting your OTListIt2 log in that forum.

If you are still having shutdown problems after being given a clean bill of health from one of our malware experts, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve the problem.

I have done what you said regarding the long period for my computer to shut down. It is not 10 minutes, but rather more like one hour. The screen that shows is the normal blue screen saying SHUTTING DOWN. I ran the OTL and it has two notepad posts which I am including, one being the mail page and another that says EXTRAS. Thanks in advance for trying to help me.

You need to post the logs in the malware forum in a new topic. We don't use those logs in the Tech forums here. :D

We can't do that. Only the Malware techs can check those logs as they have been specifically trained for malware detection and removal.
We understand it is frustrating but they will get to you but they are very busy in that forum.
