Hi,

So my laptop just randomly decided to stop connecting to the internet. All other computers in the household, including my iPod and XBox, can connect no problem. The signal strength to the router is excellent but no internet. I've tried everything I've read but nothing has worked. When I try the ipconfig / release and renew it gives me this: An error occurred while renewing interface Wireless Network Connection: unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out. No operation can be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected. An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1: The system cannot find the file specified.

I've checked the router settings and DHCP is enabled, so it's not that. I know I'm using the correct WEP key as well. I've tried power cycling, disabling IPv6, and of course have it set to obtain DNS automatically. I know the problem is not with the router but with my laptop, which is Windows Vista. My laptop is an HP Pavilion and my router is a Linksys Cisco.

The map in the Network and Sharing Center shows PC -> Unidentified Network -x- Internet

Access: Local Only
Connection: Wireless Network Connection (*MyNetworkNameHere*)
Signal Strength: Excellent

If it matters I just recently installed Microsoft Security Essentials, and the problem started when I tried uninstalling Norton (my computer froze, when I restarted the internet issues began).

Also: a couple softwares have been popping up saying Apple's Bonjour is failing to start. I'm not sure if this is relevant, it might just be because I'm not connected to the internet that it's failing to start.

This is driving me crazy so if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. I've been cleared of Malware by SweetTech in the Malware forum so it's not that, either. I'd really like to avoid restoring my computer, I'd rather just buy a new one than do that.

Thanks in advance.
