I have a HP dv6 1035us laptop that just started to give a single beep every 5 min.The beep seems to be coming from the upper right corner of the keyboard and is there regardless if the speakers are on or off.The laptop seems to be performing ok except for this beep.You can time the beep and it is every 5 min.The laptop does not get hot.I have tried the standard unplug the adaptor,shut down pc,take out battery,and press the start/power button for 60 seconds and beep still there.Any ideas what it is? Is something getting ready to fail? The adaptor power cord is plugged in properly and the battery says fully charged so it is not a battery low warning.

Hi bigsidster :D
Check the Task Manager;
To do this press Ctrl Alt Del and then watch what processes are running and check if one may be causing the beeps, have you checked for malware?
If you suspect your system may have a malware issue I suggest you check out the self help guide at the malware forum http://www.geekstogo...cleaning-guide/ if after following the guide you believe your system may still be infected you need to start a new topic there and not post any malware logs on this forum as they are not used here, provide them with a link to this thread to show them what if any steps have been taken.
Once you get the all clear from the malware guys if the issue is not resolved return here and someone will assist you.
