If you look back the Blue Screen View was the first report I had micklacey run and though it shows plenty of entries it really did not point to one specific part.
The next question is if Trendmicro is installed on the system?

1. Whilst you wait for rshaffer61 to come back to you - which model of A9 please , after A9 will be either S etc or SP etc or ST etc.
2. The other report that was asked for are the error logs etc in post 10 from rshaffer61. -
3. Sorry about that M9 rather than your A9 however a search of the Toshiba site reveals that an updated LAN driver was also offered for the A9 series in May 2009 and if you do not have that latest one and indeed the latest for the wireless, the graphics and the sound (I have only checked the LAN) then I recommend you download the latest.
Windows may not report an error in a driver on Device Manager, but that does not mean that it is not a driver that is causing this problem. It appears that all drivers for the A9 series were common to all versions of the A9, but you should still enter your specific model.
Here is the link
http://www.csd.toshi...mily=1073768664

and of course your operating system which is XP SP2/SP3 as you will notice that this is listed seperately from just XP.

i updated all the drivers this morning.

also i needed to get this person on a machine that was good so i swapped hard disks with my own lappy which is exact same makwe and model seeing as the disk was ok.

now if any blue screens occur i shoud be able to analyze on the spot using the laptop and my own disk and ensure that its not a hardware fault.

the user did mention that she noticed it happened a lot when she moved the laptop about or it was shaken at all.

Lot's of info but I'm looking at a possible network card failure verified from the log.
Have you tried the steps Mac suggested and if so is the issue still happening?

Thanks for the update and we will watch for your results. Just for future reference we would not ask for any logs that would contain personal information and in case we do ask for something we warn you in advance as to what to take out in the case of the system info which would contain your serial number for your OS.
Below is the example of a such a request.

Push and hold the Windows key on keyboard. This is the one with the Microsft windows logo on it.
While holding Win key down click on the Pause\Break key

This should open the System properties window
On this window it will show

System info:

Microsoft Windows: type and version
Service Pack number

Registered Name
Register Number

Computer:
CPU type
Memory
I need all the above info in your next reply Except for Register name and number.
This is private and we don't need to know this information

As, you may suspect, I totally agree with "rshaffer61"
Clearly a vast amount of the errors are connected with the Network, as on this extract from your logs.

Log: 'System' Date/Time: 15/02/2011 13:54:15
Type: error Category: 0
Event: 5005 Source: NETw4x32
\DEVICE\{002870A5-B056-48CA-9BCC-B216F43C6DA5} : Has encountered an internal error and has failed.]

It also appears that you have put the HDD in another computer before, as some logs report that issues relating to the Documents and settings, were run on a different machine.

There are however so many errors in the event log, that in view of your comment

the user did mention that she noticed it happened a lot when she moved the laptop about or it was shaken at all.

I would start to suspect RAM or the wireless card - not seated properly and securely, perhaps the clips not correctly fastened, or indeed the HDD itself.
In respect of "Shaken" I am sure you will agree that it is a "test" we would not recommend.

Well darn I was hoping we found the little culprit but it does sound like we are on the right track to resolving the issue. Thanks for the update. :D
