Further to the above, if you have problems have a look at the Microsoft article I sent you on the Recovery Console it has guidance with images.

Just seen your 32 which was not there when i typed this the answer is YES

Just take your time with it - otherwise you stand a good chance of making a mistake my post 31 - IT is 32 bit.
YOU REALLY ARE DOING WELL - the last person I helped on another forum with partitioning, could not get his head round it and ended up missing the opportunity.

As soon as you have done that pls post and we will sort out the other partitions.

Yes right click on My Computer and click properties is System General tab.
If it does not list a SP then a SP is not shown on the CD either.

It is 2251hrs.

1. Pls check if you have an internet connection
I do not like the idea of using the SP2 from your installation if it was corrupted so it will be on this installation it is not worth the risk.

2. Before you go ANYWHERE except Windows updates we need to install an anti-virus.

3. BEFORE you do that go Control Panel Adminstrative functions, Computer Management, Disk Management.
If those other two partitions are shown RAW. format them NTFS

No internet......I have high speed Qwest, but not connected. Think that should be enough for you tonight or morning....please give me my work assignments & then go to bed. Are these correct?
1. get on-line with help from my provider
2. load their Norton anti-virus
3. get Windows updates, which should include all 3 SP's
anything else, while you sleep?

PS-you have been incredible with all you help!

Before we deal with that have you gone disk management and dealt with those two other partitions.
Sending this so you can do that whilst I prepare the post for the internet connection.

Go to the link in my post 6.
Click Download drivers on the left hand block. Select your model.
Select XP for the operating system.
Download
Chipset
LAN
Sound
Graphics.
You can get any others on this computer when you have an internet connection.

You will of course have to do this on another computer.
Install those drivers following the instruction on the site.
You will have to look if they are self executing.
or you have to go to device manager that is right click my computer, properties, hardware, device manager and then deal with each separately.

Sorry you have confused me
Select XP for the operating system.
The base drivers you need are under the heading XP.

Download
Chipset
LAN
Sound
Graphics.
You can get any others on this computer when you have an internet connection.
I have sent you two lins already one for the network and one you will need for the SP3 update.
Install the chipset that is on the original drivers
Then the LAN I have sent you
Then the sound - I could not send that as I was unsure which you have
Then the graphics.
The the one for the SP3 update with an AMD processor.
