I hope you guys can help me out with this.

Today I was using my Toshiba Satellite T115D-S1120 when all of a sudden it shut down. When trying to turn it back on nothing happened. No fan, no lights, no screen, nothing.

I then plugged in the AC Adapter and attempted to turn it on. The only lights that are on are the charging light and the battery light. Here's what I've tried:
1. Holding the power button down for 30 seconds
2. Taking the battery out and running it solely on AC power. Still nothing.
3. Dusted the battery terminal. Nothing

It would be awesome if you guys could give me a solution. I have an unfinished paper on this laptop that's due soon!

It is possible the CPU fan has failed and will need replacing, one other thing
you can try is disconnect the battery and AC adapter lead, remove the Ram and
hold down the power on button for 30 seconds, this will discharge any static
charge that may have built up in the system, once you have done this reassemble
and power up, if this doesn`t work the fan needs investigating because if the fan
has failed the system may be preventing boot up to prevent the CPU from frying,
this is controlled by a thermal sensor on the MB, post back with any results.

I'm going to try this tomorrow. If this doesn't work, how do I know the fan needs to be replaced?

You may be able to tell by a visual inspection, it may be jammed, clogged with dust or even disconnected from the MB.
If there are no obvious signs of damage try powering up to see if the fan operates correctly or if at all, if it doesn`t remove the fan and have a tech or a comp store test it for you.
